Buddhist nun & International Teacher, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, to Give a Rare Public Talk in Auckland on “Happiness from Within”.
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, a modern-Buddhist nun and internationally renowned teacher, is coming to Auckland as part of her Australasian tour, to give a talk on how we can all live happier lives through the practices of meditation and mindfulness.
Gen-la Dekyong may well be one of the only woman to lead a major Buddhist tradition in the world and Aucklanders are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to hear her speak before she goes on to lead a four day Modern Buddhist festival in Wellington.
“So often people rely on external sources in order to be happy, with very limited success. But through relying on the meditation and positive thinking techniques presented in Modern Buddhism, we can cultivate a reliable source of happiness that comes from within our own mind. Through this we can free ourselves from negative emotions, making joy and happiness our everyday reality” says Gen-la Dekyong.
This special event will be held on Sunday 7th January 2018 at 7pm, at the Ellen Melville Centre in the Auckland CBD. Tickets are $25 and can be booked online at www.happinessfromwithin.org. Everyone is welcome to attend.
