Two rising stars of New Zealand stand-up comedy are heading south to storm the stage for five must-see gigs.
Cohen Holloway and David Correos are quickly becoming household names for their fresh and hilarious takes on life in New
Zealand and the weirdness that surrounds us in the world today.
The House Series Southern Comedy Tour from October 12-16 takes in Invercargill, Dunedin, Gore, Queenstown and Wanaka.
Holloway began doing impersonations at school, and did some more when he joined TV sketch show Facelift.
In 2009 the singer, comedian and Toi Whakaari graduate won a Qantas award, after portraying the falsely-imprisoned David
Dougherty in TV film Until Proven Innocent.
Since then Holloway has acted in Boy, starred in Western Good for Nothing, and in the hit Māori TV mockumentary series Find Me A Māori Bride – but loves nothing better than getting back on stage.
“I’ve been doing stand-up in between my acting career, so I’ve been really lucky to do that,” Holloway said.
Winner of the prestigious 2016 Billy T Award, David Correos is quickly becoming a powerhouse of New Zealand comedy.
He has a uniquely powerful, boundary pushing style which has made him an audience favourite whenever he performs.
Correos has appeared on 7Days and AotearoHA and his live shows are energetic and highly entertaining – a comedian who
has to be seen to be believed.
The southern comedy tour starts at Invercargill Brewery at 8pm on Thursday October 12, then Dunedin’s Playhouse Theatre
at 8pm on Friday, October 13, Gore’s SBS St James Theatre Gore at 8pm Saturday, October 14, Sherwood Queenstown at 9pm
on Sunday, October 15 and Wanaka’s Gin and Raspberry at 8pm on Monday, October 16.
