TEDxWellington introduces new registration categories, and a way to support local charities
TEDxWellington 2017 conference registrations will be on sale at 12 noon on Wednesday 10 May via Eventfinda. New this year, the event will launch a range of exciting registration categories – including a unique way to ‘pay it
forward’ and support local charities.
The following registration categories will be available to purchase:
· discounts for age 25-and-under: $62.50
· group discounts (when buying 10 seats): $750 ($75 per seat)
· standard registrations: $125
· ‘pay it forward’ registrations: $175
· three special VIP packages: $500 (which include an exclusive one night stay in a QT Museum Wellington suite for two
people, two VIP seats at the conference, and entry to the TEDxWellington after-party)
The ‘pay it forward’ registrations offer a special way to give back to a charity in the Wellington community. People who
purchase a ‘pay it forward’ registration will get one seat for themselves, and will also have supported our five local
charities: Dress for Success, Change Makers, Kava Club, Young Enterprise Scheme, and Seniornet. For every ‘pay it forward’ registration that is purchased, the charities will be able to give a seat to someone in
their targeted community.
One of the selected charities is Change Makers Refugee Forum, a rights-based, non-government organisation (NGO)
representing 14 refugee-background communities in Wellington. Operations Manager Mozhdeh Wafa is excited for Change
Makers to be involved in TEDxWellington’s ‘pay it forward’ scheme: “I am happy for our communities to go to
TEDxWellington as they may not have had this opportunity in their life and this is towards our vision for them to
integrate with New Zealand society by participating in different events as other New Zealanders.”
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘perspective’, and the ‘pay it forward’ registrations allow TEDxWellington to
increase the reach of the audience and welcome a wider range of perspectives to the event. The TEDxWellington
perspective theme was announced via video, and the theme will be an exciting part of the Sunday 18 June conference.
