Watch Australian Spy Tomás Ford Fail
Following an Australian season that has seen rave reviews and packed houses, cabaret crooner Tomás Ford brings his one
man musical spy thriller Tomás Ford’s CHASE! to Auckland and Wellington.
The show tells a noir-as-hell story of an awkward assassin travelling the world on an epic manhunt, who slowly realises
he just might be the one being hunted. Building on the dark weirdness of his previous award winning shows Craptacular! and Electric Cabaret, the show sees him sing his way through eleven story-driven songs, project dual screen videos and indulge in his unique
approach to audience work. It’s a full-on multimedia spectacle that is also spawning a web series, rolling out over the
next year at http://www.tomasfordschase.com, where you can catch the debut episode, featuring his gently demented take on David Bowie’s Let’s Dance.
Ford is best known in New Zealand for his sell-out comedy DJ party, Crap Music Rave Party, which is also stopping by for dates at Wellington’s San Fran on Saturday February 25, Auckland’s Galatos Live on
Saturday March 4 and Queenstown’s The World Bar on Sunday March 5. At these parties, you can request any song you like,
so long as it sucks and Ford will hyperactively make an idiot of himself to it, project rave videos, throw glowsticks
and generally lose his mind, all while the room goes nuts dancing to your jam. Since his kiwi debut this time last year,
the shows have sold out three tours including a massive national lap in July.
Tomás Ford’s Chase! runs from Thursday 23-25 at Gryphon Theatre in Wellington at 6:30pm as part of the NZ Fringe before
transferring to the Q Theatre in Auckland from Feb 28-Mar 4 at 6:45pm.
