Brains, beer and Kiwi craftiness collide in a 3,000-bottle trade-off
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – 20 October, 2016 – Kiwis will be getting crafty this week, pitching their most beer-worthy
talents. Over 3,000 bottles of Boundary Road Brewery’s craft beer will be traded on Facebook to celebrate the brewery’s
new-look packaging and new beers.
Head Brewer, Trevor Rollinson says, “This is the send-off our original labeled stash of beer deserves. We want to give
one of our Facebook fans who knows and loves our beers the chance to get their hands on a piece of Boundary Road
memorabilia, the final stash of our old packaging. By my count, there’s roughly 3,456 bottles of beer stacked up and we
reckon the only fair way to decide who gets the lot is a good old-fashioned trade-off.
The most creative trade suggestion, as judged by Rollinson, will be the winner.
“We’re anticipating a wide range of beer-worthy trade suggestions. We want people to front up with their best
ideas…these could be handyman skills, hidden talents, much-loved possessions, or even a passionate gesture, all in the
name of beer”, says Rollinson.
The Facebook trade includes many of the beers that launched Boundary Road in 2011, including The Chosen One, Bouncing
Czech and Mumbo Jumbo. A couple of the beers included in the final stash won’t be brewed again, while others will be
returning to shelves with the new-look packaging.
“We love a bit of Kiwi ingenuity and the stakes are high. The best trade takes home the whole stash so we’re looking for
something worth rewarding,” says Rollinson.
The Boundary Road team has always worked with beer fans to create their beers, from crowdsourcing beer tasters in 2011
to recently hosting a Facebook live stream giving their fans a chance to contribute ideas for the new brews.
The trade is commencing on the Boundary Road Brewery Facebook page today https://www.facebook.com/brb/app/170667176632765/
