Hunt for the Wilderpeople Takes 2016 Audience Award
Taika Waititi's brilliant odd couple road trip story starring Sam Neill and Julian Dennison takes home prestigious award at Edinburgh International Film Festival
The recipient of this year’s prestigious EIFF Audience Award was this evening announced during our Closing Gala at Festival Theatre - Taika Waititi's utterly charming Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
The New Zealand director's film was a huge hit at the Festival, with three sold out screenings and rave reviews, and is a thoroughly deserving winner of the 2016 award, voted for by the public at screenings and through our social media channels.
