Leap into the Extraordinary with the Monthly Mystery
WELLINGTON, 21 January 2016 - Whilst February may be the shortest month of the year, there’s one show that will go to any length to ensure the extraordinary - The Monthly Mystery, New Zealand’s only all-magic-and-mystery show, returning to the Fringe Bar in Wellington on 11 February 2016, at 7 pm.
“When you think about it, February is an incredibly magical month,” says Mountebank Entertainments’ Mike Kay. “Normally, there’s only 28 days, but this is a leap year, there’s 29. I can’t think of a better reminder that reality is entirely subjective. That’s one of the things The Monthly Mystery seeks to remind us.”
Produced by Mountebank Entertainments Limited and featuring magic, mind-reading, mirth and mayhem, The Monthly Mystery occurs on the second Thursday of every month. It showcases Wellington, national and international performers skilled in the mystery arts.
Kay, who also serves as host for The Monthly Mystery, thinks February also serves as an auspicious augur for another reason. “Theodore Annemann, one of the greatest thinkers in the art of mystery was born in February. I’d bet if he were still around, old Ted would have enjoyed The Monthly Mystery. He’d also be 109 years old, but that’s another story.”
The Monthly Mystery occurs at the Fringe Bar in Wellington on 11 February 2016, at 7 pm. Tickets are $15, available online at http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/. If the show has not sold out, there will be door sales.
