Shearing record bid under way in King Country
Three-stand eight-hour lambshearing record challengers Ringakaha Paewai, Peter-lee Ratima and Craig Fagan will have to
step-up the pace if they are to break a World record in their attempt south of Te Kuiti today.
In the first two hours from the start at 7am to morning smoko break at 9am, the trio had shorn 428. They are targeting a
record of 1784 set in 1999.
While Paewai was on the individual pace required and had shorn 149, Ratima had shorn 135 and Fagan 144, having been
called-in as a late replacement for injured hopeful Aidan Copp.
The record is taking place at the Carter Family property, Sargents Rd.
