Aussies win the real match at Adelaide Oval – the shearing!
The Aussies have beaten the Kiwis in the first of two matches that ended at the Adelaide Oval tonight [Sunday 29/11].
The Aussies were South Australian shearers Shannon Warnest and Johnathon Dalla who beat an invitation team of Australia-based New Zealanders Imran Sullivan and Rick Chilcott by eight seconds in the deciding clash in a three-match shearing series played during the dinner breaks on what were to have been the first th...ree nights of the first day-night cricket test.
The Australians won the opening match on the Village Green members area at the oval on Friday night, and the Kiwis reversed the result on Saturday to set-up tonight’s decider.
It was a joint promotion involving Australia Cricket, Sports Shear Australia and Australian Wool Innovation.
Just over an hour and a half later, Australia wrapped–up the cricket test which had been scheduled for five days and nights. The Australians chased down the target of 187 set by the Black Caps and won by three wickets.
