singer/songwriter Adam Lambert is performing songs from his new album The Original High live on Wednesday, August 5 at
the Civic Theatre, Auckland.

Adam Lambert first stepped into the spotlight when he became a finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. However,
it was after the season wrapped that Lambert’s soaring voice and unique blend of theatrical flair and glam-rock
sensibilities saw him rise to international fame.
In 2009 Lambert released his widely-successful RCA Records debut, For your Entertainment, which has sold nearly two
million copies worldwide to date. The album’s first single Whataya Want From Me, became a radio smash and earned him his
first Grammy nomination for ‘Best Male Pop Vocal Performance’.
Lambert’s second album Trespassing had similar success and Lambert made history when Trespassing became the first number
one debut on the Billboard 200 Album chart by an openly gay artist.
Lambert’s incredible stage presence and theatrical performance style was recognised by one of the biggest rock bands in
the world, Queen. Lambert recently wrapped a hugely successful world tour fronting Queen, with original band members
Brian May and Roger Taylor.
Now the Grammy-nominated singer is returning to Auckland to perform songs from his highly-anticipated third studio album
The Original High, which includes the album’s efficacious first single Ghost Town. Critics have been praising Lambert’s
new album on Digital Spy stating, “The Original High is a bold and tenacious modern pop record that he can call another
victory.”
All Music gave the album four out of five stars declaring that Lambert “demonstrates he’s in perfect control of his
style and sound and knows how to combine both into a sterling modern pop record.”
Lambert will be supported by Sweet Mix Kids. The Auckland-based DJ duo uses a mix of genres and has a flamboyant
performance style, which makes them a popular act both at home and internationally. Sweet Mix Kids have supported
international artists such as Kimbra, Empire of the Sun, and Hilltop Hoods. They have also played at some of the world’s
best and biggest festivals including Coachella.
