NZME Radio Congratulates its 2015 New Zealand Radio Awards Winners
NZME Radio’s top radio talent has been officially recognised at this year’s Radio Awards with the media company completely dominating the client digital partnerships category of the awards.
The NZME team is thrilled with its 22 gongs at last night’s New Zealand Radio Awards held at the Auckland Museum, with Newstalk ZB’s Mike Hosking taking out the prestigious Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year award.
Award highlights for NZME include Newstalk ZB’s Leighton Smith being awarded Best Talkback Presenter and honoured for his Outstanding Contribution to Radio. The Best Marketing Campaign gong went to ZM’s Join the Movement – Fletch, Vaughan and Megan and Radio Sport’s Tony Veitch was named Best Sports Presenter/Commentator.
Managing Director of NZME Radio, Dean Buchanan says, “Radio is the fastest changing medium, making it dynamic, fun, exciting, challenging and multi-faceted – in fact we’re not just in the radio business, where on the business of engaging listeners, consumers and clients through multiple platforms and devices. This gives us great flexibility to continue to grow our content and commercial offerings. The awards NZME have received are the result of hard work and indicate we are definitely on the right track with our strategy.”
This year saw the rise of NZME’s Experiential and Radio Brand Engagement teams’ leading the way by dominating the Best Client Digital Execution category, with only NZME promotions named as category finalists this year. iHeartRadio’s The Alternative Commentary Collective (ACC) for New Zealand Cricket was awarded top honours beating the multi station Noel Leeming Massive Sellout promotion for the Radio Bureau/NZME and ZM’s Tappy D Moonshine Bootlegger and 2degrees 4G The Drop promotions.
General Manager of NZME Experiential, Mike Lane says, “We’re stoked! The results have reflected a real focus on providing meaningful partnerships with agencies and clients and shows NZME has the skills and resources to execute and amplify complex campaigns.”
