Treble Cone Ski Area Triples on-Mountain Dining Options
The on-mountain dining options and experiences at Treble Cone (Wanaka, New Zealand) are about to get a whole lot more flexible, friendly and delicious at New Zealand’s Best Ski Resort. Whereas previously Treble Cone offered one large food court style cafe located at the Base Building, in 2015 the options available on-mountain have been expanded to three unique cafe outlets.
A brand new outlet named Altitude Espresso & Pizza - Powered by Allpress is being installed at the top of the Home Basin Express chairlift. At this location the new outlet will be easily accessible to all mountain users, including those enjoying the Home Basin trails, skiers and snowboarders lapping the Saddle Basin, and even scenic chairlift ride customers taking in the spectacular mountain and lake vistas.
Altitude Espresso & Pizza will be a container style cafe serving barista made espresso and chef cooked-to-order pizzas to guests seated at new picnic tables positioned at the top of the Home Basin Express. Altitude Espresso & Pizza will provide a spectacular location to enjoy a refreshing beverage or meal whilst enjoying the views Treble Cone is famous for across Lake Wanaka and the snow-capped Southern Alps.
At the existing Base Building, the former bar end of the cafe and the adjoining Sun Deck outdoor dining area will be transformed into a new outlet named The Cheeky Kea Burger Bar and Cafe. The Cheeky Kea will provide gourmet burgers cooked-to-order and delivered to guests at their tables, along with barista made coffee, or a glass of Central Otago’s best local wines.
Additionally at the Base Building, the main indoor seating area and adjoining outdoor Plaza area will become Triple Treat Cafe, serving the ‘grab-and-go’ mountain favourites including sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, hot chips and more. A new barista station will be installed in this area. Triple Treat will service mountain users seeking a brief stop to refuel prior to getting back on their skis or snowboard.
All three outlets will serve barista made Allpress coffee, tripling the number of coffee outlets on the mountain, and all outlets will offer soft drinks, water, beer and wine, making refuelling and rehydrating easier than ever before, plus a range of baked goods and confectionary items.
Treble Cone won New Zealand’s Best Ski Resort in 2013 and again in 2014 at the World Ski Awards, and is easily accessible for skiing and snowboarding from Wanaka and Queenstown.
