Ferguson in for return game with Knights

Media Release
Tuesday, 20 January 2015

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have brought in speedster Lockie Ferguson to their 12 to travel to Mt Maunganui to play the Northern Knights in the last round of the Ford Trophy tomorrow.

Ferguson comes in for Kyle Mills who has joined up with the Blackcaps after his comeback appearance in the Mondiale Aces thrilling last ball win over the Knights on Sunday.

The Mondiale Aces assured themselves of a spot in the first versus second semi-final this Saturday with that win at the weekend, but where they play that game will depend on the result tomorrow and whether the Central Stags can win their game.

Those kind of details are not something concerning Mondiale Aces coach Matt Horne, who is focusing on helping his charges carry that winning momentum into the semi-final.

“It’s nice to have booked our place for the semi but we really want to keep the winning habit going with another victory tomorrow. It’s really important we back up that victory on Sunday with another good performance at the Mount.”

A team for the game that starts at 11am tomorrow, 21 January, at Blake Park, Mt Maunganui will be named from the following 12 players:

Michael Bates (Captain)
Brad Cachopa
Carl Cachopa
Craig Cachopa
Lockie Ferguson
Colin de Grandhomme
Donovan Grobbelaar
Anaru Kitchen
Colin Munro
Tarun Nethula
Matt Quinn
Jeet Raval
