Inaugural Bridal Workshop Fundraiser raises money for Mary Potter Hospice
The Loft, Wellington’s newest creative space and venue, held a ‘Bridal Workshop Fundraiser’ Sunday, 23 November on location: Level 1, 9 Edward Street, Wellington. Tickets started at $20 per person; proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to Mary Potter Hospice.
This workshop marks the first of many successful annual events that brings a boutique selection of wedding services together organised by The Loft; David Duffy from Emotif Photography and Panache Model Management; and Sharee Wilkinson from Plush Studio.
A one-stop-workshop for brides and grooms to be
Some of Wellington’s finest businesses participated in this event, including La’ Shika Couture, Emotif Photography, Plush Studio, Alan Raga Photography, Frank Casey Suit Hire, Wedding Belles’ Bridal Wear, Sante Naturkosmetik, Panache Model Management, Cerulean Wedding Videos, CubianFusion, Szinergia Digital, The Wedding Crashers, and Wellington Woman Magazine.
Select participating businesses gave a snapshot tutorial of their services and expert advice ranging from what to look for in an effective videographer, tricks DJ’s use to get people to boogie on the dance floor, to skincare preparation tips from 3-months before the ‘big day’.
The tutorial was followed by a vibrant fashion show featuring La’ Shika Couture bridal and evening wear, Frank Casey suits and new range of bridesmaid dresses, and Wedding Belles’ Bridal Wear. Nicely integrated in the show was Cuban salsa and Kizomba dancing by Bari Chin and Sandra Ivanov.
Wellington’s coolest creative space and venue
The Loft is owned by couture wedding and evening dress designer, Shika Braddock. Shika created The Loft to give her clients more: a space for people in similar industries to meet, mingle, and try new things.
A space for workshops, dance classes, wedding conferences, information evenings, boot camps, photo shoots, art exhibits, functions, business meetings — The Loft is big-enough, vast-enough, and open-enough to be used for pretty much any kind of function.
Shika also owns La’ Shika Couture based in New Zealand and Australia.
