Monty Python’s London Reunion to Show in NZ Cinemas in August
Rialto Distribution confirm that Monty Python Live (mostly) will be shown in cinemas around New Zealand from August 6th (captured live) broadcast of the remaining members performing on stage together for the first time in over 30 years.
The five remaining members of the U.K. comedy troupe -- John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones -- will reunite to perform versions of its more memorable skits, sketches and trademark quirky humour.
The sixth Python, Graham Chapman, died in 1989, hence the word "mostly" in the show title. It is also believed to refer to the expected use of video and projections during the stage shows.
Monty Python hold a special place amongst the world’s finest comedians, influencing generations and revolutionizing comedy and this return promises to be one of the biggest alternate content screening events of 2014.
“You can expect a little comedy, a lot of pathos, a lot of music and a tiny bit of ancient sex… and maybe some cross dressing” Monty Python
