Moorhouse Eliminated, the X Factor Nz Finalists Announced
Public voting tonight saw Moorhouse eliminated from The X Factor NZ, leaving Benny Tipene, Jackie Thomas, and Whenua Patuwai to compete in The X Factor NZ Grand Finals.
Sunday’s Semi-Final Performance Show saw the four remaining contestants each perform two songs, with the themes ‘Love and Heartbreak’ and ‘The Best of Rock’.
The Grand Finalists were decided solely by public vote; for the first time in the competition, the Judges did not vote as part of the elimination process.  Moorhouse received the lowest number of public votes and was eliminated.
Tonight Moorhouse said: “Moorhouse fourth in New Zealand! We never thought we would get this far. We love you NZ and thank you for supporting us.”
Mentor Melanie Blatt said: “This has been great training for these boys, and they have been a pleasure to work with. This ain’t the last you have seen of them New Zealand!”
Tonight’s elimination leaves Ruby Frost and Daniel Bedingfield as the only Judges mentoring Grand Finalists.  Melanie Blatt and Stan Walker now have no acts left in the competition.
The X Factor NZ Grand Finals weekend starts at 7pm, on Sunday 21 July, with the winner crowned LIVE on Monday 22 July.
Ahead of the Grand Finals, The X Factor NZ is heading to Christchurch, Greymouth and Palmerston North this week for a series of Hometown Visits.
Starting on Tuesday in Christchurch, Whenua Patuwai, Jackie Thomas and Benny Tipene are each heading home for some last minute support and inspiration; catching up with family and friends, meeting local fans and performing for a hometown crowd.
