A huge congrats to 2007 Grand Champs and 2012 Finalists Lense Flare for getting NZ On Air funding for their new TV show! Jared Kahi (Team Leader) had this to say:
"When we won in 2007 with ’Lease’, it was euphoric and incredibly motivating. We were inspired to keep the momentum
going however we could, so we used our prize money and Rocket Rental prize and decided to shoot a trailer for a
television show concept which had been in the pipeline for a while. We hawked the trailer around to try and get it
picked up but didn't have a lot of luck. The idea got shelved temporarily, but 6 years later the trailer caught the eye
of thedownlowconcept, previous 48 Hour winners and filmmakers that we really respected. They offered to produce the
series, which brought the project back to life again. We just found out in the last NZ On Air funding round that our
show got the greenlight, which is unreal. We start pre-production in the next couple of weeks and have a pretty exciting
year ahead of us no doubt!"

INSIDE THE SCREENING ROOM
48HOURS shorts that broke the rules (not actually, they followed all the rules, but pushed all the boundaries!) and
wowed the judges. Don't be a sheep and follow the flock. Create something we've never seen before. A brave failure is
usually a lot better than a by-the-numbers short.
One of 2012’s Grand Finalists: ADHDMi’s
And a very different kind of animated film…. The Avatards 2011 film
Only two people in this team – but ingenuity, smart editing and good sound made this great:
