The Great Hoax return in 2013 with a brand new 7 track ep 'Dark Matter' an experimental new batch of songs, that sounds
like: 'Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart' s ‘Trout Mask Replica’ meeting Nine Inch Nails'- Nick Swanson 'The Great Hoax'.
Dark Matter is the most original batch of compositions possibly ever!, combining elements of Jazz, hip hop, trip hop,
rock, blues, noise, and mild country groaning.
A lot of The chord arrangements were arranged 'blindfolded'' meaning the chords were arranged by 'hitting all the notes'
you’re not supposed to and the lead on songs such as:
'Bubblewrap Universe' and 'Hoz and Reality Showz' was not even rehearsed, as the notes hit 'make no musical sense what
so ever' to make an industrial Nine Inch Nails’ish sound.'
'It’s a 'mini' concept album about a blues man going crazy!'.
I came up with the lyrics in what i call my crazy diary of what was going through my head as I was living off noodles,
with bad pay, stressed out, no sleep watching mind numbing TV', after a while you start to go insane'.
