This week on Marae Investigates - SUN 14 OCT 2012
Kia ora koutou,
This Sunday on the programme we bring you the personal story of one family whose land, homestead and tourism business at Öräkei Körako north of Taupö were taken off them under the Public Works Act to make way for the Öhäkuri Hydrodam - as the Government moves forward their plans to sell shares in Mighty River Power. The whänau say they were told their land was to be flooded, it wasn’t, so why is there a lodge on their former turangawaewae? We then head to Hastings as local iwi Ngäti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga join the water fight and are fed up with their rivers turning into polluted streams – so where is all the water going? Also, joining us is Labour List MP Shane Jones and our commentator Willie Jackson to talk politics. Finally we head to the home of golf in Scotland and catch-up with former US Open champion Michael Campbell with startling new performance revelations. All exclusively on Marae Investigates 10am Sunday on TVOne.
