Book on how to make it in the modelling world
released by fashion guru Angela Stone
Wednesday November 15, 2011
Leading NZ fashion stylist and designer Angela Stone has released the ultimate guidebook for aspiring models, with inside tips on everything they could ever need to know about entering the glamorous world of modelling.
Stone, who released How to become a model this month through online megastore Amazon, is well-qualified to write such a book; starting out her career in modelling before going on to start top NZ model agency, Portfolio Models in Christchurch at the age of 21.
Since then, Stone has since carved out a formidable reputation as a fashion stylist and commentator, styling clients across Australasia, and launching her own clothing range at NZ Fashion week in August.
Stone has also long been the driving force behind fashion events such as NZ Cup and Show Week, Lindauer Best Dressed at Addington Races, Fashion in the Fields at Riccarton Races, and seasonal fashion showcases in Canterbury. This year she debuted at Taste of New Zealand hosting the fashion and food event Ladies Who Lunch.
Stone says her inspiration for writing How to become a model is to share her wealth of beauty and fashion knowledge with those who have model potential in an easy-to-read way, so that they are well-equipped to enter the modelling industry, and literally able to put their best foot forward.
“I see fabulous men and women with huge model potential all the time in my line of work, but they are daunted by the prospect of opening the door of what can seem to be a closed door industry,” Stone says. “This book is my way of reaching out to these people and saying, “Hey it’s ok, it’s not as hard as you think, you just need to know a few tricks of the trade and believe in yourself”.
How to become a model is available at www.amazon.com USD$9.95 e-book, USD $27.00 Paperback. For more info on Angela Stone visit www.angelastone.co.nz
