Love/Hate Website Opens Celebrating Auckland

Published: Tue 18 Nov 2008 02:56 PM
Aucklandfuckingcity.com is an online magazine launching on 19th November. Over the next six months, we will be documenting this glorified truck-stop we call home, and unearthing some talented (and some not so talented) characters, many of whom would have slipped below radar.
The site will feature interviews with various inhabitants of our fair city, ranging from self-portrait-obsessed artist Misery, suicidal small business owner Michel McNamara and the best rock band in Herne Bay, The Hories. There will also be nepotistic reviews of gigs and food halls, art and music by people we like and good old fashioned diatribes.
Although Aucklandfuckingcity will feature contributions from a range of people, the core of the magazine is Colon Mitchell, once a rising star in the theatre world, now reduced to pretending to be a bogan and singing to audiences of 12, failed rapper and chronic masturbator Tourettes and Miso, 12 year old child prodigy and photographer.
Here at Aucklandfuckingcity, we feel objectivity is for the dull and spineless and plan on been a beacon of slander and hearsay in a sea of puff pieces. The site will only be up for six months, as we figure by then we will have exhausted everything vaguely interesting to write about in this shithole.
There will be a piss up to celebrate the launch at D.O.C on the 19th, as no doubt there will be nothing else on that night in this half-horse town.
