Bosnich to join Oceania All Stars against LA Galaxy
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich is the latest player to join the Oceania All Stars.
Bosnich – Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Player of the Year in 1997 – completed a seven match stint with Hyundai A-League franchise Central Coast Mariners and is eager to continue his comeback with the Oceania All Stars.
The Oceania All Stars will play the LA Galaxy and David Beckham on Saturday 6 December at the Auckland Regional Council’s Mt Smart Stadium.
Bosnich, who has played for leading premiership teams Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa, says he is looking forward to facing off against David Beckham.
“Becks has scored against me before, when I was with Aston Villa – hopefully he won’t again.”
Bosnich is over the hamstring injury which curtailed his contract with the Central Coast Mariners in the Australian A-League earlier this year.
“I’m hoping this game will give me the opportunity to show I’m still able to play high level football.”
The Oceania All Stars will be coached by former Football Federation Australia National Instructor Coach and OFC Technical Director Jim Selby and former All Whites international and Auckland City FC coach, Colin Tuaa.
They will be assisted by former Tahitian international and FIFA Technical Development Officer Patrick Jacquemet.
The Oceania All Stars will be captained by Christian Karembeu.
