Jimmy Barnes Checks In To Best Western
Jimmy Barnes checks into Best Western in this issue of En Route Australasia magazine. Now 52-years old, Jimmy reflects on his years of hard parties, sleeping on squat floors and long sweaty nights creating the soundtrack to Australia in the 80s.
Travel back in time even further with Drink in the Past – a treasure map and guided pub crawl through Australia’s first European settlement.
Movie and history buffs will love the story on Australia’s boutique cinemas – gems left over from the halcyon days when cinemas had luxurious red velour seats, ornate ceilings and plush velvet curtains. Feature story Picture Perfect discovers the beautiful silver screens that remain – hidden in nearby suburbs.
Feel inspired by the rousing story of Marayke Jonkers. At 13 years old, sitting in hospital and unable to walk, Jonkers made a list of 100 goals to achieve in her life. In the years following, she has travelled the world by wheelchair and become one of Australia’s finest professional swimmers. She competes in this year’s Paralympics in Beijing.
Issue 6 En Route Australasia magazine will be available from 11 August at all Best Western hotels and resorts or, by emailing your postal address to:
enquiries@bestwesternaustralia.com.au.
About En Route:
