Auckland Boys Give Away Free IPhone
Evert and Eben Bruyns Started a Website to Make People’s Wishes Come True
Whoever thinks the younger generation is selfish and self-obsessed better think again. In September, Aotea Square in Auckland will be the stage of a very unique event – Evert and Eben Bruyns will give away an iPhone to a complete stranger, for no other reason than to make their wish come true.
The two young men from Orakei recently started a website (www.wishcollector.com) with the objective of making people’s wishes come true. Users register on the website and make their wishes and then it’s up to Eben and Evert to find companies to sponsor those wishes, in exchange for advertisement on the website.
In July, Evert camped outside Vodafone for over 50 hours and was the second person to buy an iPhone from the store. In fact, he bought two. He immediately gave the first away to one of the people waiting in line and will now give the second to one of the Wish Collector users who wished for an iPhone.
Thanks to the website, that has only been running for a few months, a non-profit organisation in Auckland received a self-standing screen for their activities with children. Another user wished for a computer and recently received it, thanks to the kindness of another Wish Collector user.
Wanting to lead by example, Evert and Eben bought the two iPhones using their own savings. The announcement of who will receive the second iPhone will be made on the first of September, through the website.
Wish Collector is pleased to invite you to take part in this event. If you’d like to receive further details or want to schedule an interview with Evert and Eben Bruyns, please contact: evert@wishcollector.com or 027 342 3330.
