Kiwi Flagship Youth Programme To Be Launched In Scotland
This year The Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) will export one of its programmes to Scotland. Project K, a proven approach that helps young New Zealanders maximize their potential will soon be put to the test through 12 young people from Edinburgh.
“I fully believe in the effectiveness of the Project K approach,” says Tim Draper, Programme Director who leaves on Thursday to help implement the programme. “To see where people were when they were first selected and then where they are now, eight years on is incredible. I think the approach of Project K is something which can be applied to any western culture.”
On Thursday (June 26), Tim Draper will leave for two-weeks in Scotland where he will work along side Kiwi ex-pat and former army officer Michael Wilson to assist with the Foundation for Youth Development’s first off-shore “start up” programme. He will be implementing proven systems to ensure smooth operation in the augural programme.
The first programme (which will be run under a different name) will begin in August and will involve 12 students from a high school in Edinburgh.
