Sci-Fi channel petition kicks off

Sci-Fi petition kicks off, attracting hundreds of signatures in just 24 hours
The recent coverage by Peter Griffin in the NZ Herald ([link]) on NZ's near complete lack of science fiction coverage motivated me to create an online petition to lobby the TV networks to bring the sci-fi channel (www.scifi.com) to New Zealand.
Peter raises a lot of valid points. Sci-fi is all about the human condition. Much sci-fi make a lot of valid and thought provoking comments about society.
TV3's change of heart with Underbelly, resulting from a concerted campaign shows what role fan power can play in steering the programming schedule.
In the 24 hours that the petition (http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/bring-on-the-sci-fi-channel.html) has been running it has already received hundreds of signatures from across New Zealand, with many signatories leaving thought provoking comments.
