Green Citroen C4 Picasso Takes Diesel People Mover of the Year Prize. Again!
Citroën has been named as the Green Car Maker of the Year and its award-winning people mover, the Citroën C4 Picasso, has been named for the second year running as the Diesel People Mover of the Year in the annual 'What Diesel Car?' awards.
Citroën's commitment to low fuel consumption cars, people movers and vans with its advanced diesel engines and the SensoDrive and EGS robotized gearboxes that further reduce fuel consumption and emissions, as well as its advanced research into planet-saving technologies have enabled it to retain its position as the greenest car maker. Low fuel consumption and low emissions are feature of vehicles right across the Citroen range, not just in one banner-waving model, as is the case with some car makers.
The Citroën C4 Picasso's combination of being a supremely good people mover and its advanced diesel engine proved to be, for the second year running, an unbeatable combination.
"Although we have seen a dramatic growth in diesel sales in New Zealand, they still pale in comparison to the UK, where they account for more than half the market," says Lawrie Malatios, General Manager for Citroën in New Zealand. "This means that to win an award for diesel achievement from a UK magazine is of particular achievement and relevance because to win both a car and a car maker must have beaten the full selection of cars and companies available in the market place. Thus the Citroën's green credentials are, once again, shown to be unbeatable, while the Picasso protects the families it carries, thanks to its five star EuroNCAP rating, and the planet, with its low emission diesel engine."
