With these small works, I wanted to follow a fashion design process, as if to create a clothing collection.
The physical process began by painting large abstract works on sized cotton printmaking paper.
From these bolts of 'fabric' I selected and cut small pieces at 5' x 7'; 'one size fits all'.
Then each piece was customised/embellished/embroidered, with painting/printing/weaving, using various combinations of acrylic, ink, enamel, charcoal and gouache.
Showing at HuckGun, fashion concept store & gallery located corner of Victoria and Lombard Streets, from 22 November, through December.
Opening function is Friday 30th November, 5-7pm, all welcome.
