You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best!
Ladies And Gentlemen, Ween!
Ten years. TEN BLOODY YEARS we've been waiting - for the return of Pennsylvania-via-New Jersey's finest export since the Amish rocking chair, WEEN.
Just think.. since that time, WEEN have released four gloriously deranged studio albums (including the most recent La Cucuracha), between them, featuring such stone(r) cold classics as Flutes of Chi, Hey There Fancypants, Gabrielle, Friends & Spirit Walker and we haven't seen WEEN perform any of those tracks live, EVER! Then there is the back catalogue, another six studio albums of eccentric genius including such anthems as Mutilated Lips, Waving My Dick in the Wind, Voodoo Lady, Piss Up A Rope, Push the Little Daisies, the list goes on.
But now the wait is over. Ladies and gentlemen, you wanted the best and now mysterygirlpresents are proud to bring you the best, WEEN, live in Australia this coming February.
And while it's unlikely we will see all the above listed gems in one sitting, no-one is going to be left disappointed after 2.5 hours plus of existential fun courtesy of WEEN.
The nearly three-hour set (no opening act necessary) blasted the packed house at the cozy Bluebird with a wildly adventurous set list spanning the group's repertoire and featuring a healthy dose of new material. Though past glories like "Transdermal Celebration" and "Voodoo Lady" got the biggest response from the eager crowd, new cuts like the high-energy, country-inflected "Learnin' to Love" and the psychedelic "Spirit Walker" -- both of which were played for the first time Tuesday -- showed the extent of Ween's creativity and incredible range. - BILLBOARD.COM - OCT 17th 2007.
You've been patient but now it's time to lose your shit. WEEN, live over New Zealand this February.
MONDAY 25th: AUCKLAND, THE POWERSTATION
TUESDAY 26th: WELLINGTON, SAN FRANSISCO BATH HOUSE
(PS ween will be doing a three hour show...)
