Benga is widely regarded as the founding forefather of the scene known as Dubstep. Courtesy of his early monumental slabs of audio on Big Apple Records, Benga broke loose with his own sound, throwing down serial sub bass devastation over bare half step riddims.
Benga's visionary approach has gone on to influence a generation of producers. Not only as mentor to Skream, but producers Digital Mystikz to Pinch all sight Benga as the main man behind the genesis of the future riddim.
Benga's phenomenal output has seen killer 12" releases on seminal dubstep labels Tempa, Planet Mu, Hot Flush, Immerse, Southside Dubstars, and his own Benga Beats. His credentials as a DJ are just as lethal.
"Man, Give Benga 10 seconds and he's the mix" (DJ Chef). Benga will hit NZ with the excess baggage on premium, his rucksack loaded with the freshest Benga badness direct from hard-drive to acetate, along with hot wax from across the dubstep spectrum.
