Swapclub.co.nz partners with LibraryThing.com - the web’s largest book cataloguing site
Swapclub, New Zealand’s own dedicated swapping site, is pleased to announce the successful integration with LibraryThing, the web’s most popular book-cataloguing community.
The partnership means that books listed on swapclub are now linked to instant reader reviews, ratings and recommendations from hundreds of thousands of readers from around the world. Adrian Penman of swapclub says the new affiliation will bring enhanced features and many more user benefits to the swapclub site. He says there are also other possible areas for future development and looks forward to further collaboration with LibraryThing.
LibraryThing.com is the web’ most popular online book-cataloguing site with over 14 million member listings. The website enables users to easily organize and catalogue their personal library and, amongst other things, create user tags for each book. This creates a unique way to catalogue, search and share text and publications. It means that a user can uncover reading material that they may have otherwise overlooked using a numbered classification system. In addition LibraryThing has grown to become a social networking site for book lovers of all genres and connects people with similar libraries and collections.
Swapclub is the first swapping site from the southern hemisphere to partner with LibraryThing. Furthermore, swapclub is a preferred swap site, surpassing some much larger international rivals.
The people behind LibraryThing have the following to say.
“We’re very pleased to team up with a swap site from down under. Swapclub is doing some exciting things, and their commitment to openness and to their members is impressive. We look forward to more kiwis visiting LibrayThing and using the two sites together”
Adrian Penman adds further comment,
“The growth of dedicated swapping sites across the web is testament to this method of trading. Swapclub has built a dedicated and growing base of New Zealand members who recognize that swapping items with others provides an effective and economical way to trade since no financial transaction takes place. This is true trading in its purest form and is what the world did before money was used as a currency - plus it’s loads of fun”
