Rugby genius? You could wing your way to Paris
Got a great rugby brain? If you have, you and three friends could win a trip to the Rugby World Cup 2007 final in Paris.
So if you think you know everything there is to know about the previous five Rugby World Cup tournaments, you’d best head to selected bars during May and June for the Rugby World Cup 2007 Heineken Trivia Series.
As part of its Rugby World Cup sponsorship, Heineken has four grand-stand seats at the Paris final for the winners of its Trivia Series promotion.
But first you have to become bar champions, make it through your regional final and then win the grand final in Auckland.
More than sixty Heineken-serving bars in three regions are each running five trivia nights on consecutive Wednesdays to find local teams to compete in regional finals in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The winning teams from the regional finals get to test their Rugby World Cup knowledge against the other regional winners in a final in Auckland. The major prize of four trips to the Rugby World Cup goes to the overall national winning team.
“Premium quality rugby deserves support from the world’s premium lager so we’re getting right behind the cup with a great trivia series and an absolutely unbeatable prize,” says Heineken’s Jacqui Clement.
“Rugby trivia is a classic socialising activity and most New Zealanders are pretty knowledgeable about our national game. But this competition is all about the global game and the Rugby World Cup so there’s going to be some in-depth swotting going on.”
Each quiz focuses on a particular world cup year with several rounds focusing on the teams, players, statistics, and iconic moments.
