Bonds Of Friendship that Never Break
The friendships you make at school are often the strongest and no matter the time and distance since you last saw your old school friend or sweetheart, the bond never breaks.
This is proved time and again by the two million members of reunion website, Friends Reunited, who continue to search and find long-lost playground pals and childhood sweethearts, discovering that time makes little impact on the feelings they have for each other.
As Paraparaumu based member, Ann Ryder, discovered when she found old school friends after 40 years. Originally from the Isle of Wight, UK, Ann and her family moved 12,000 miles to New Zealand when she was 16 years old and she lost contact with her best friend, Shirley.
Ann said, "To my great delight, I found Shirley's name list on the website so I sent an email. Luckily she replied and now we correspond regularly. It's been so great to catch up on what we've both been up to all these years and also reminiscing about old times!"
Vicki Dawson, head of Friends Reunited New Zealand said, "Friendship bonds made when you're young are some of the strongest in life because it's at that age you often rely heavily on friends; they're your life. Even going separate ways, these special bonds are hard to break and many of our two million members have come to discover this. It's always wonderful to hear that so many of them have rekindled that close bond of friendship."
