Matterhorn is pleased to announce an evening of urban soul kicks in celebration of Sugarlicks fifth birthday.
The Auckland label, a hothouse for Pacific soul musicians, artists and performers is bringing an unprecedented live Auckland line-up, including Brother J, Maya, gmuva and tdubb to the Cuba Street chalet on Saturday October 21st for some birthday mischief. Local ‘motherflavor’ support by Kava, on the decks from 10PM
Next Sugarlicks stop is the Khuja Lounge in Auckland where it all began five years ago, and then the focus is on a tour to Europe and UK.
Recent projects from the Sugarlicks stable include Solaa's album Steps in Time
(solaa.com, myspace.com/isaacaesili) and the upcoming 12" vinyl release, Solephonic Project from Sugarlicks Godfather, Mr Manuel Bundy.
Sugarlicks has a worldwide distribution deal in Germany for the UK / EU, Japan and North America and was voted top label at Popkomm 2004.
