Youth Worlds Day Three
Racing at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships was hampered last night (NZT) by fickle winds. Competition
was postponed and then abandoned in all classes except for the board sailors.
Girl's RS:X representative, Justina Sellers has leapt up the leader board with two good races overnight and the first
discard coming into play. 17 year old Sellers, from Auckland improved her overall standing from 10th up to 6th.
Scott Davies, also from Auckland holds 10th overall in the Boy's RS:X after placing 13th and 7th in last nights racing.
A lay day is now scheduled giving the NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team a chance to re-focus before the final three days of
the regatta.
"There'll be three races instead of two on Tuesday and perhaps Wednesday as well," explains Marty Watson, Yachting New
Zealand's High Performance and Youth Director. "The team is eager to race."
