World’s Fastest Omelette Maker Arrives In New Zealand
Fried, scrambled, poached, over easy; on toast, with soldiers, covered in sauce... every Kiwi has their own preference for cooking eggs. But now international egg enthusiast, Howard Helmer, is set to shake up Kiwis' attitudes to omelettes during his first visit to New Zealand this week.
Howard, the world’s fastest omelette maker having twice earned the Guinness Book record for his high-speed eggs-perience, arrives from the USA set to show just how healthy, versatile, easy and fun making an omelette can be.
His ability to cook up a whopping 427 omelettes in a mere 30 minutes has led to guest appearances on Oprah, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and many more top rating US programmes.
“Eggs are one of nature’s most functional foods – a delicious base ingredient packed with nutrients, and omelettes are ideal if you want to be a little creative in the kitchen,” says the egg-spert who claims to be able to teach anyone in a Kiwi kitchen to fill, fold and flip a perfect omelette in 40 to 60 seconds, simply by following his technique.
While in New Zealand, Howard will scramble to spread the good word about eggs to local foodwriters while showcasing some of his favourite mouth-watering omelette dishes for any meal occasion at any time of the day.
A far cry from the basic ham and cheese omelette, it is hard to resist tucking in to his exquisite creations. “Ready for dessert?” asks Helmer as he ignites the apricot brandy on his strawberry, kiwi and banana omelette flambe.
