A Ford Territory For A Year Is No Joke For Leading Trainer
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 10 April 2006
Leading trainer, Paul Moroney had another reason to smile when his horse Jokers Wild won the Ford Two Year Old Series last weekend - he also won the keys to a brand new Ford Territory for a year.
Ford is the major sponsor of the largest series of Group 1 horseracing events in New Zealand and the Ford Two Year Old Series celebrated its 16th running in 2006.
Trained by Paul and his brother Mike Moroney, Jokers Wild won the series and two of the 27 major Group 1 races which the Ford Two Year Old Series consists of.
"As part of our commitment to the racing industry, the winning trainer of the Ford 2YO Series receives a Ford Territory for a year," said Jen Ingleby, Ford New Zealand Sponsorship Manager.
"The Territory has been the leading Sports Utility Vehicle in New Zealand since its launch in 2004, and it's easy to see why Kiwis fall in love with its car-like handling and off-road capabilities."
"It will be an ideal vehicle for Paul to tow horse floats around the country."
"Like many of our sponsorships, our association with the New Zealand Racing industry is a long-standing one, and complements other associations we have with organisations such as New Zealand Rugby Union, Netball New Zealand, champion cyclist Sarah Ulmer and Variety, The Children's Charity, to name but a few."
