New book to be launched by Christine Rankin offers insights into the real reasons most of us struggle with our relationships
New personal development book identifying the keys to successful relationships in the 21st century
Wellington 8 February – The explosion of online dating services has not changed the dating ‘basics’, according to the authors of a new book on building successful relationships in the 21st century ‘Heart Rules’.
Co-authors Linda George and Rosie Bowie point out in their book, due for publication on 16 February, that the Internet and technology may appear to have made dating easier, but the rules for maintaining a successful relationship are more old world than new.
“It appears so easy these days, as if filling in an Internet template will secure the perfect match. If only, “ says Rosie Bowie.
“The key to successful relationships is to know yourself,” says Rosie. “Before you look a partner in the face you need to first look at yourself in the mirror. Understanding yourself and your heart-felt needs is the first step towards establishing success in dating.”
Rosie, who operates Wellington-based dating agency Match company, co-authored ‘Heart Rules’ with Linda George, a television and print personality who specialises in astrology and spiritual psychology, wrote their book to highlight some of the “rules” or universal laws of building relationships.
“Life, in every aspect, is speeding up, and the turnover for our relationships is the highest it has ever been. The challenges therefore are huge: How to figure if the ‘time is up’ for you and yours, how to move on and date again, and – most importantly – how to create lasting, loving relationships,” says Linda.
“Now, more than ever, we need insight and skills to journey through our love lives. Good relationships don’t just happen on their own – we make them,” she says.
“Heart Rules” outlines a variety of strategies and personal development tools to help people achieve success in new or existing relationships. The book’s central philosophy is listen to your heart – or, in other words – get conscious. A combined knowledge base of over 40 years’ experience between the authors make theirs a story worth listening to.
“Heart Rules,” published by Zenith Publishing, is to be launched in Wellington by former WINZ boss and media and leadership consultant Christine Rankin.
