Heart of the City is currently running an Art Competition in conjunction with the travelling, outdoor, poster art exhibition 'Coexistence' that we are bringing to Auckland in February next year. Coexistence was originated by the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem in 2001 and an Art Competition is held in host cities where this travelling exhibition is on display. See www.hotcity.co.nz for more background details.
Th Coexistence Art competition is open to all NZ residents nationwide. The art works are to represent the theme of Coexistence - living in harmony with the other and tolerance and understanding between people.
The art work currently on display in the exhibition was created by artists from around the world and new art work is continually evaluated by the Museum Jury and included as the exhibition travels. The Coexistence Jury includes Lord Richard Attenborough, J M Coetzee (Sth African author) and Pierre Roxenberg (President and Director of Musee de Louvre, Paris).
This competition is a fantastic opportunity for local artists to visually express the issues relating to coexistence in NZ with a unique NZ/South Pacific style. All entries will be on public display at the same time as the Coexistence Exhibition in Auckland. To find out more, or to register visit www.hotcity.co.nz.
