Saturday 8 October
Sandwiches is proud to present the original Queenstown bad boys -
THE SUNSHINE SOUNDSYSTEM
Comprised of the legendary DJ Downtown Brown and his trusty MCs P-Digsss (Shapeshifter) and KPz, the Sunshine Sound System have turned out parties from Cape Reinga to the Bluff and beyond. As a crew, the trio have shared the stage with the likes of The Nextmen, Aphrodite and London Electricity, as well as headlining major festivals all over New Zealand, with crowds at Kaikoura Roots, Rippon, and Destination all baring witness to the Sunshine's good-time vibes.
The Sunshine Soundsystem have developed a road-tested recipe for good times - Downtown holds things down behind the wheels of steel like no other, taking 'eclectic' to the next level as he weaves hip-hop, funk, dancehall, reggae and jungle into a ready-made party. Mr Brown is the man behind infamous Queenstown club Subculture (and a handful of killer bootleg releases including the infamous Billie Jean sampling floor-smasher that has become a favourite with fans all over the world), and provides the funky backbone over which his MCs P-Digsss and KPz deliver their unique tag-team vocal styles, adding mo' flavour to the mix every step of the way.
Don't miss the chance to witness a rare Wellington performance by one of the Aotearoa music scene's dopest crews, in what promises to be one of the parties of the year.
