Getting ready for the whitebait season
Christchurch City Council will host a pre-season meeting for lower Waimakiriri River whitebaiters/salmon anglers, who use the Spencer Park beach access, on Monday 4 July at 7pm in the Ouruhia Hall, Guthries Rd.
As well as providing an opportunity for fishers to pay for and collect their beach access key before the start of the whitebaiting season, the meeting will offer important information on fishing and vehicle use at Spencer Park.
Representatives from the Council, Christchurch Police, ECan and Doc will talk briefly and be available to answer questions from the audience.
All previous and potential Spencer Park whitebaiters/salmon anglers, their friends and family are welcome to attend.
