Cheap booze, Kylie and easy skanks!
UniQ Victoria, the support group for Victoria University’s non-heterosexual students, is proud to announce the return of
the Traffic Light Party—a night of cheap booze, camp dance music and easy skanks!
This year, the party is opening UniQ’s national conference, held at Victoria University on July 15 – 17 and will be
attended by tertiary students from throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Paul Brown, co-President of UniQ Victoria says the concept of the traffic light is a lot of fun.
“When you arrive you choose a coloured band. Red means stop—I’m taken, orange means I’m single and looking, but not
necessarily desperate, and green says I’m a skank so come and get me!”
The music of the night is unashamedly camptastic gay anthems, so Kylie, Geri, Gwen Stefani, Mariah, Madonna, Whitney,
Tina Cousins and other such divas will feature heavily, and in a departure from many similar events there will be no
drag shows, just blatant camp music, cheap drinks and loads of fun.
Sponsorship from UP magazine, NZ AIDS Foundation, Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association and NZUSA have
helped to keep the cost down to $10 for UniQ members and $15 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased from Real
Groovy, Pound Niteclub or UniQ.
Traffic Light 2005 starts at 8 pm on Friday July 15 at Victoria’s Memorial Theatre Foyer and continues well into the
small hours of the morning.
Paul says, “It's going to be a great night, just wish I wasn't working it! If there's one thing I know, it's people want
familiar camp music and cheap drinks!”
