The Clan of the Puppet Ninja Present
Bird, Mouse, Sausage
a political fable made of puppets, masks and music
BATS Theatre
1 Kent Terrace
7pm, 12th to 16th July, 2005
The Clan of the Puppet Ninja are proud to present their original adaptation of the Grimm's fairytale, The Bird, The Mouse and The Sausage at Bats Theatre in July 2005.
Three friends, Bird, Mouse and Sausage live in a tiny house in a spooky forest on the outskirts of a totalitarian state. They live a perfect pauper life, until one day the outside world encroaches on their threadbare idyll. Innocent temptation leads to downfall in this most tragic of tragedies.
The show is performed entirely by puppets and masks and features music by John White (Mëstar) and Matthew Steindhal (The Raskolnikovs).
The Clan of the Puppet Ninja is a puppet-based theatre collective founded in 2001. Previous productions, Uncle Stinky's Missing Shoes, Faunaphonic Expansion Kit and Uncle Stinky Redux Deluxe have established their reputation as creators of innovative and experimental theatrical comedies. As an adult-oriented puppet performance troupe, the Clan are utterly unique in current New Zealand theatre.
