HIGHLIGHTS
The Big Dinosaur Parade
Friday 15 July, 10am
Come dressed as your own dinosaur creation. You’ll be judged for your costume, your dino knowledge, your creative name and much more! Call 09 306 7077 for an information pack and to register. Great prizes up for grabs! In Treasures & Tales.
Dinosaur Neighbours Talk
Wednesday 20 July, 10.15am
Virgil Evetts will show you the plants and animals that shared Gondwana with those terrible lizards! In the Origins Gallery.
Walking with Dinosaurs
Every Tuesday and Thursday of the holidays, 3pm
Screenings of the BBC Documentary will be shown on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm. APEC Room.
Design a Dinosaur competition
Draw! Paint! Sculpt! Decorate! Do whatever you have to do to design your own original dinosaur that will knock our socks off. Entry size has to be on A4 paper (or similar size sculpture). Send or bring to us by Monday 1 August to be in to win some fantastic dinosaur prizes.

Bookings essential. Please phone 09 306 7040. Places are confirmed with payment. Stevenson Dinomite Club members can book their places on these workshops now! Skins, Feathers or Scales
Wednesday 13 July, 10.30am – 12.30pm (10 attendees)
Advanced Workshop (Aged 10 to 13 years) $10 or $7.50 for Dinomites.
Design a Dinosaur skin and paint our Weird & Wonderful dinosaurs.
See your work permanently in use in W and learn about dinosaur adornment and camouflage. Bring your own dinosaur model to paint!
Secret Stash Dino Eggs
Thursday 14 July, 11am – 12pm (12 attendees)
Junior Workshop (Aged 4 to 6 years) $7 or $5 for Dinomites.
Make a cool resealable dinosaur egg so you can hatch your dinosaur again and again, and have a secret place to hide your treasures!
Dinosaur Detective
Thursday 14 July, 10.30am – 12pm or 1.30pm – 3pm (15 attendees in each)
Senior Workshop (Aged 7 to 10 years) $8 or $6 for Dinomites.
Find out what dinosaurs we had in New Zealand in these cool activities, and take away your own fossil!
Glass Mosaics with artist Galia Amsel
Tuesday 19 July, 10.30am-12pm (12 attendees)
Senior Workshop (Aged 7 to 10 years) $12.50 ($10 for Dinomites)
Take a tour of the NZ Glass Invitational exhibition with artist Galia Amsel and design your own mosaic with glass tiles and pebbles.
Jewellery Workshop with artist Anna Bates
Thursday 21 July 10.30-12.30am (12 attendees)
Advanced Workshop (Aged 10 to 13 years) $15 ($12 for Dinomites)
Take a gallery tour and look at the jewellery of Warwick Freeman and Tanya Zoe Robinson, then come to a jewellery workshop with artist Anna Bates and design, cut, bend, shape, hammer and combine metals with natural materials, to make jewellery for yourself or someone special.
