Final Hurricane in the Park Wednesday 27 April 2005
The Hurricanes are bringing the game atmosphere into the city for the week leading up to their last Rebel Sport Super 12 Hurricanes home match at Westpac Stadium.
“Hurricane in the Park” is a celebration of the Hurricanes team, and provides food and entertainment for Wellingtonians at lunchtime. The next event is being held in Midland Park on April 27 April (if the weather is fine) from 12.15pm.
As well as a band and dancers, there are a number of opportunities to win tickets and prizes. There will also be Hurricanes team members on site, and Captain Hurricane will be in attendance. Tickets and merchandise are also on sale.
The last Hurricane in the Park for the season is particularly special. The Hurricanes will be promoting their first-ever themed home game.
20th Century Fox is teaming up with the Hurricanes, MoreFM and the Dominion Post to provide Star Wars Night at the Westpac Stadium on 30 May. There will be spot prizes for fans in costume, and a grand prize for Best Dressed: a trip to the New Zealand Premiere of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith in Auckland on 16 May. The prize includes flights and accommodation, and official Star Wars items such as 2 Darth Vader Helmets (with voice changer), 2 light sabres, figurines and model fighters.
