Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Week 2005 announces a week of fashion events
The Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Week is proud to announce a week of fashion and events in Dunedin from 8–13 March 2005 taking fashion to the people.
The week's events include the Arthur Barnett Meridian Fashion HQ, The Otago Daily Times Opening Night in conjunction with Arthur Barnett Limited, a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Fashion Designer Breakfast Seminar, the Vodafone id Dunedin Jewellery Breakfast, and the Vodafone id Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards, all leading up to the premier event, the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show on Saturday 12 March 2005.
Exclusively arranged for the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Week is the new Vodafone id Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards to be held on Friday 11 March at 8pm in the Octagon carriageway.
A marquee will transform the carriageway into a fashion venue especially for the awards.
The winner of the awards takes a first prize of $3000 together with the opportunity to show their collection alongside Dunedin's finest fashion at the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show on Saturday 12 March 2005.
Tickets for the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show, the Vodafone id Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards, and the Vodafone id Dunedin Jewellery Breakfast go on sale on Monday 14 February and are available from Ticketek offices nationwide.
Vogue Australia Fashion News Director Natasha Inchley, Sydney-based LINO Magazine Creative Director Rex Turnbull, and organizer of the highly recognized international fashion competition Mittelmoda Italy, Stefano Sopelza, will be in the city for the week's events, as part of the judging panel for the Vodafone id Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards.
The audience at the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show will be presented with the winners of the Vodafone "Bag me Baby" competition, who will be showcasing their bags made from recycled Vodafone billboards.
Dunedin's highly regarded jewellers show their latest collections at the Vodafone id Dunedin Jewellery Breakfast show to be held on Friday 11 March at 8am in the Otago Museum.
Dunedin's Arthur Barnett Meridian Fashion HQ is a fashion haven of daily fashion shows, body-painting, make-up demonstrations, and prizes for the public throughout the fashion week of 8-13 March 2005 from 10am to 4pm in the Meridian Mall, George Street, Dunedin.
The Otago Daily Times Opening in conjunction with Arthur Barnett Limited, is a chance for the public to mix with the fashion designers, the sponsors and supporters at a night of fashion shows including the Bendon Roadshow.
The Opening, to be held at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery on Tuesday 8 March features Farrys for Women, Farrys for Men, Tagg, Kitty De (childrenswear), Brent Weatherall Jewellers, St Clair Design, Kimberley's, Jackie Brazil and Arthur Barnett Limited.
Tickets for the Opening are available from participating retailers at $30 per person and go on sale to the public from 14 February.
