YOUNG AUCKLAND TALENT WINS NATIONAL SOCCER AWARD
Nine year old Auckland soccer player, Harrison Eden, has won the soccer category of the MILO GO SportsKid of the Year
award 2004.
The MILO GO SportsKid award is open to all participants of events in the MILO GO Sport Programme across a range of
sports throughout the year. The award is designed to honour youth who strive to develop their skills and potential, and
who demonstrate the core values of sport, such as sportsmanship, effort, teamwork, commitment and perseverance.
More then 50 children were nominated for the award for displaying positive sporting attributes during the MILO Netball
Discovery Day series, the MILO Rugby Coaching Clinic series, the Small Whites National Tournament and the MILO Junior
Kilikiti Tournament.
From the nominees for the award, one winner was selected for each of the sport categories. Harrison was selected as the
winner of the soccer category and will receive a $250 voucher from Rebel Sports and a MILO Pack. From the category
winners, one overall winner was selected as the MILO GO SportsKid of the Year.
Small Whites Soccer Tournament organiser Rowan Adams said Harrison was nominated for the MILO GO SportsKid of the Year
following an excellent performance for his Three Kings United team at the Small Whites National Tournament held in
September this year.
"Harrison was nominated for the award following an outstanding personal performance in his team for the tournament's
duration," said Adams. "He embodied the tournament's aims of goals, fun, fair play and good sportsmanship and displayed
first class commitment to his Three Kings United team. He was an obvious selection for a Player of the Tournament award
and as nominee for the MILO GO SportsKid of the Year award".
Blenheim netball player, Kirby Heath, was the winner of the netball category and was also named the overall winner as
the MILO GO SportsKid of the Year 2004. Kirby will receive a trophy, a certificate, MILO pack and an additional $500
voucher from Rebel Sports.
Other category winners are Dunedin's Rowan Tumai who won the rugby category following the Central Otago MILO Tens Rugby
Day, and Auckland's Vienna James who won the Kilikiti category following the MILO Junior Kilikiti Tournament.

sponsorships of netball, rugby, soccer, kilikiti and cricket.
