Cardrona Alpine Resort Appoints New Sales And Marketing Manager
Bruce McGechan, 36, from Wellington has been appointed as Cardrona Alpine Resort’s new Sales and Marketing Manager, effective immediately. McGechan joins the ski area from a successful marketing career based in Auckland working with well-known brands such as Vodafone, Heineken and Fletcher Building.
A strong skier and keen snowboarder, McGechan said he was looking forward to swapping the concrete of Auckland for the slopes of one of New Zealand’s premier ski areas.
“When the opportunity came to work at a world class ski resort, I jumped at it,” he said. “Cardrona is already a very successful brand with a history of great snow and exciting events. The challenge is to continue to grow it in both the domestic and international markets, reinforcing its position as an international snowboard and free ski destination as well as New Zealand’s leading family resort.”
McGechan also said the prospect of living in Lake Wanaka also had strong appeal.
“Not only can I work in an industry I’m passionate about but I can also live in a fantastic outdoors-orientated town, allowing me to pursue my other interests such as mountain biking and trekking.”
