Free inflatable films screening in Aotea Square
Aotea Square will come alive on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 December when ten New Zealand short films are projected onto
a giant inflatable screen.
The selection of short films provided by the New Zealand Film Commission will show on both nights from 9pm to 11pm.
The event is part of Auckland City’s ‘Living Room’ series – a summer programme of seven mysterious events to entice
people out of their homes and use the CBD as their living room.
The ‘Living Room’ series will run until 8 April 2005 and will include free events, performances and artistic
installations in prominent public spaces around the CBD.
“The purpose of Living Room is to engage the publics’ senses through animating inner city spaces in unexpected ways,”
says event producer, Mr Pitsch Leiser.
To maintain a sense of mystery around the ‘Living Room’ events Auckland City will be providing details about where and
when an event is taking place, but will not explain exactly what it will involve.
Living Room is a pilot project that is part of Auckland’s CBD Into the future strategy, which aims to transform
Auckland’s CBD into one of the world’s most vibrant and dynamic business and cultural centres.
