Duck Shooters Poach In West Coast National Park
It was a few years ago now, and Paddy Sweeney from the West Coast organisation Good Bastards claims it still goes onto today, shooting Ducks where you are not suppose to was something akin to “the super twelve’s only there is no dough in it.”
Back in Paddy’s ‘real’ Larrikin days (he says the larrikin stuff that he and his mates get up to these days is mild to what it was thirty years or so ago, but they’re working on changing that) poaching under the nose of the rangers was the national sport.
“The poor old rangers back in those days never had a show, they were just poor buggars employed by the government because no one else would give them a job” he said today on the eve of the duck shooting season.
“Now days there are a lot of do gooders out there yapping and flapping like a young duck that would like to ban all sorts of things, trouble is these do gooders can’t even figure out how to be financially independent in one of the richest country’s in the world. If you can’t get the basics figured out on economic independence, how valuable is your input on anything else?” He said. “The real purpose of government is only there to administer certain basic services for the community at large, not give food and shelter by way of employment to those who can’t get jobs in the world of enterprise. Some of these poor lost souls have been standing at the bus stop on a road the bus doesn’t even go down”
“With Sweeney you never know if he is really pushing a barrow on something or just leading the gullible into a debate where he already knows the outcome” A close mate of his Sean Patrick O’Flarity confirmed.
Perhaps the answer can be found by dialing 0900 JOKES or 0900 56537 where Sweeney can be found full flight in a poaching exhibition on the West Coast.
